The 27th annual Hawaii District Science and Engineering Fair will be held Saturday at the ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center.

Judging of more than 100 varied projects completed by local students in grades 6-12 will take place.

The Science Fair and its exhibits will be available for public viewing Feb. 17, 19-22 in Moanahoku Hall. There is no charge to see the fair.

Admission applies for the ‘Imiloa exhibits and planetarium shows.

School excursions will be offered during the week of Feb. 19-22 for schools to bring students in grades 4-12 to view the projects.

“Teachers have the opportunity to provide an experience for their students that will get them excited about science, hopefully inspiring them to participate in future Science and Engineering Fairs and possibly to pursue careers in the sciences,”said Justina Mattos, ‘Imiloa’s interpretive planning coordinator.
